Logitech UE Boom 2: Making 360 Sound with IPX7 Certification
With Logitech’s largely successful UE Boom speakers, from its water resistance to its 360 degree sound, there’s not a whole lot to hate about the original Logitech UE Boom, except that we have cited that the sound is a bit below average of the original. Nonetheless, nothings stops Logitech from improving with the UE Boom 2.
Now, with the last, we got the cylindrical form factor, NFC pairing, a 3.5mm auxiliary jack, as well as Bluetooth connectivity from about 50 feet away. With 15 hours of battery life, the UE boom was a formidable speaker.
We got the wireless range bumped up to 100 feet with 25% more volume than the previous, as well as the same great 15 hours of battery life. Additionally, we also have IPX7 water resistance certification.
This is still very much an incremental upgrade from the original. We get the same form factor as before, as well as many of the same features, but the UE Boom gets even more connected by doubling the wireless range and makes the UE Boom truly portable with full waterproofing.
With the Bluetooth market getting more crowded year after year, Logitech hasn’t really rebuilt the UE Boom with the UE Boom 2, but maybe that’s all it takes to stand out in the crowd: Repeating success by doing the same thing, but it’s hard to complain about a recycled formula when the current formula is already pretty good.
The UE Boom 2 will be available from their website for $199 in a myriad of colors. If you got the current UE Boom, chances are, you won’t even notice the difference. If you’re a new advocate of the UE Boom popularity, this is a great way to get started.
