While usually expensive, deals appear periodically, and right now, you can get them for just $299.99, a $100 discount.
This offer is available from Best Buy, and it’s a “Deal of the Day” exclusive to the Blue color model. That said, you can actually get the same color and model for $298 from Amazon.
We are linking to Best Buy because this retailer is clear about this deal only being available today, while Amazon doesn’t mention any time constraints. We have a feeling it might be a one-day sale in both instances, though, but it’s always worth checking out Amazon’s offer. It will save you a few bucks, and there is always a chance the deal will stick around past today there.
There’s no going wrong with the Sony WH-1000XM5 if you want the best headphones around, especially if you can get them at this lower price point. They aren’t only our favorites; the internet is crowded with other tech experts praising them. They are excellent headphones, excelling in all departments.
These offer stunning audio quality and impressive ANC performance. We even loved the microphone! That said, audio is only part of the equation. These are the latest and greatest high-end cans from Sony, and they are teeming with great advanced features. You’ll get Bluetooth Multipoint, touch gestures, Find My Device support, auto-pausing, and more.
Additionally, the Sony WH-1000XM5 are built very nicely, offering a more minimal design and solid construction. We found them very comfortable, with cushiony pads and large cups. And if you care about battery life, these do very well in this department. We ran them through our standardized tests and managed to get about 31 hours with ANC enabled. If you turn off noise canceling, the battery life extends to a whopping 53 hours! This is quite impressive.
Remember, this deal is only available today! You might want to sign up for it as soon as possible. While don’t see these commonly dropping back to these prices often now that Black Friday and the holidays are over.
Extra deal: The Apple AirPods Max are also on sale!
While we consider the Sony WH-1000XM5 the best headphones for most, we also mention in our list of the best headphones that the Apple AirPods Max are the best for iPhone users. These are usually even more expensive at $549.99, but right now, you can get them for $399.99, which makes the price a bit easier to justify (just a bit).
That said, these are the Lightning version of the AirPods Max, and it seems the stock is starting to run out. Best Buy only has the Space Gray, Silver, and Green colors available in my area. If you don’t mind using a Lightning connector, though, the headphones are the same as the USB-C ones, and they are quite impressive.
As the price shows, these are high-end headphones. They have a gorgeous metal design, a very comfortable fit, and an excellent overall experience. The sound quality and ANC performance are also impressive, competing only with the best.
That said, only those invested in the Apple ecosystem can really take advantage of everything the Apple AirPods Max have to offer. Some features are Apple-exclusive, such as auto-pausing, some gestures, Siri support, and automatic device switching. Our tests yielded about 21 hours of battery life, which isn’t impressive, but it’s pretty decent.
