Shokz doubles down on open-ear audio at CES 2025 with pro and consumer launches
- Shokz launches OpenFit 2 earbuds ($179.95) with dual-driver design for better bass response
- OpenMeet UC headset ($249.95) brings bone conduction to office environments
- Both devices mark Shokz’s expansion beyond the traditional sports/fitness market
Shokz unveiled its latest audio lineup at CES 2025, pushing its open-ear technology into office environments while upgrading its consumer offerings. This marks a significant expansion beyond the company’s traditional sports and fitness focus products.
The OpenMeet UC ($249.95 at Amazon) is Shokz’s first dedicated office headset, using bone conduction technology in a headband design. Our hands-on time with the device showed impressive microphone quality in noisy environments thanks to Qualcomm’s cVc system, though the open-ear design might not suit all office settings. The titanium headband and adjustable pressure relief system provide solid comfort for long work sessions, and the battery life reaches 14 hours of talk time.
On the consumer side, the OpenFit 2 ($179.95) introduces a dual-driver system with separate units handling low and high frequencies. Each 9.4-gram earbud uses a nickel-titanium alloy hook for stability and a purported battery life of 11 hours per charge and 48 hours total with the case.
Both devices feature Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connectivity. The OpenMeet UC includes either USB-C or USB-A adapters for office setups, while the OpenFit 2 comes in black and beige color options.
