OnePlus may rebrand its flagship TWS earbuds and drop the price
- The third generation of the OnePlus Buds may not have the “Pro” branding.
- OnePlus may drop the price of the OnePlus Buds 3 down to €99.
- It’s expected that OnePlus will launch the earbuds on January 4 in China and January 23 globally.
OnePlus officially announced the next generation of the OnePlus Buds in a Weibo post back on December 27. Now new details are coming out about the TWS earbuds.
Tipster Max Jambor on Allround-PC has leaked some new information about the third-generation OnePlus Buds. According to the leak, OnePlus’s new earbuds will be called the “OnePlus Buds 3.” Given the “3” at the end, it would suggest they are the successor to the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, despite dropping the “Pro” from its branding. This is supported by the official teaser poster.
In addition, Jambor adds that the OnePlus Buds 3 will come equipped with a 10.4mm woofer and 6mm tweeter, 48db noise cancelation, Google Fast Pair, dual connectivity, and an IP55 rating. It’s said the new earbuds will also offer spatial sound like the OnePlus Buds Pro 2.
One of the bigger improvements, however, appears to be battery life. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 comes with 39 hours of playback time, while the Buds 3 is said to have a battery life of 44 hours.
Another big change may be the price, which will reportedly be €99 ($108.37). If true, this would be a massive drop down from the €179 ($195.94) the Buds Pro 2 initially sold for. It’s unknown if the price will be the same for the US.
OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus Buds 3 in China on January 4. Those outside of China will have to wait for the global release, which is scheduled for January 23.
