New party speaker with built-in dry box on the way from Altec Lansing
- Altec Lansing announces several new Party Speakers at CES 2025.
- Notable new speakers include the ToughBox and Mix 3.0.
- The Mix 3.0 is poolside ready and features a built-in light show, Micro SD card slot, and dry box for your phone with internal USB-A and USB-C connections.
Altec Lansing is expanding its lineup of portable Bluetooth speakers to include a few party starters. First up is the Altec Lansing ToughBox. As if it fell straight off the shelf at Home Depot, this rugged orange and black speaker is designed with tailgaters and outdoor parties in mind. Pushing 100W of output and offering IP66 protection in a robust and durable package, the ToughBox is designed to handle the bumps and bruises of travel or that rowdy pregame party, rain, snow, or shine.
Next up is the Mix 3.0, a lightweight, portable party speaker that’s poolside ready. Along with built-in LED party lights, this 150W, IP66-rated speaker also offers two unique features for a party speaker. First off, a built-in dry box with both USB-C and USB-A connection. The Mix 3.0 is buoyant and designed to pump your tunes even when it’s floating on water, so a dry box is a handy solution for keeping your phone safe while you and your friends rock out to your favorite Yacht Rock playlist. Lastly, the Mix 3.0 will also include a microSD card slot to download playlists if you want to leave your phone on the dock.
We had a chance to crank up the new Mix 3.0 briefly and were impressed with its initial sound quality and portability. The Mix 3.0 can operate horizontally or vertically, and its dual grab handles and lightweight build make it easy to tote around to your destination.
While pricing has yet to be announced for these new speakers, Altec Lansing states they will be available by Q2, and we look forward to putting these speakers through their paces.
