Meet Meze Audio's POET: Repairable luxury in a world of disposable tech
Published onFebruary 20, 2025

- Meze Audio is launching POET, a new compact open-back planar-magnetic headphones priced at $2,000.
- The headphones feature Rinaro’s MZ6 Isodynamic Hybrid Array drivers with claimed ultra-low distortion (<0.05%).
- The POET provides a fully serviceable design with magnetic ear pads and replaceable components for long-term durability.
Romanian high-end audio manufacturer Meze Audio has announced its newest planar-magnetic headphones, POET. Launching today, the POET aims to bring flagship-level performance to a more compact form factor.
The POET headphones use planar-magnetic technology developed by Ukrainian audio company Rinaro Isodynamics. The MZ6 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver reportedly features a uniform magnetic field design and an extremely lightweight diaphragm weighing just 0.06g. According to Meze, these technologies contribute to ultra-low distortion levels below 0.05%.
Meze claims these design choices should deliver balanced sound with detailed bass and clear treble, but as always, we’ll verify these claims using our standardized measurements once we get our hands on a review unit.

Build quality appears to follow Meze’s established premium design language, with materials including a steel grill, magnesium chassis, titanium alloy headband, and suede leather headrest. Each unit comes with a hand-braided copper cable that connects to the headphones via dual 3.5mm TS jacks. The design emphasizes both luxury and durability.
Serviceability appears to be a major focus with the POET. All components are designed to be easily disassembled and replaced, including magnetic ear pads for simple swapping. This approach to repairability is refreshing in a market where many premium headphones become obsolete when parts wear out.

The POET is available now for $2,000, which positions it in the ultra-premium segment alongside flagships from competitors like Audeze, Focal, and Hifiman.
Based on Meze’s track record with previous models like the Empyrean and Elite, the POET could be worth watching for audiophiles seeking high-performance planar-magnetic headphones in a more compact package.
