Marshall unveils new Auracast-ready portable speakers
- Marshall introduces Emberton III and Willen II portable speakers
- Both are dust/waterproof and Bluetooth LE Audio-ready
- Emberton III promises 32+ hours of battery life, Willen II 17+ hours
Marshall has announced the release of two new portable speakers, the Emberton III and Willen II.
The Emberton III, priced at $169, is the larger of the two models. According to Marshall, it features 32+ hours of battery life and is dust and waterproof with an IP67 rating. The speaker will utilize the company’s “True Stereophonic” technology, which they describe as a form of multi-directional sound and includes two 10W full-range drivers.
The smaller Willen II, priced at $119, reportedly offers 17+ hours of playtime. Marshall states that this model has been slightly enlarged compared to the first Willen to enhance bass and overall acoustic performance, using a single 10W full-range driver.
Both speakers will be Bluetooth LE Audio-ready, which will enable future audio-sharing capabilities through Auracast. This feature will be available as an over-the-air update through their Bluetooth app at a later date.
The new models include built-in microphones for hands-free calling, a feature not present in previous Emberton II. The Willen II also comes with a rubber fastening strap for hanging or carrying the speaker.
The Emberton III and Willen II are available for pre-order on Marshall’s website starting today, and global sales will begin on August 26, 2024.
