Jabra upgrades their most popular fitness headphones

Could these be your next pair of 'buds?

Jabra was one of the first companies to realize that one of the best use cases for Bluetooth headphones is fitness. Not only did their Sport Pulse headphones sound good, but they were among the first earbuds (if not the first) to have a heart rate monitor built-in. These can be used for all kinds of exercise, but were designed specifically for runners. If you consider yourself a gym rat you also had the choice of going with the Jabra Sport Coach. Now both of those headphones are getting some much needed updates, with two special edition versions. Just in time to channel your inner Olympian.

Jabra Sport Special Editions

Jabra Sport Pulse Special Edition

The first pair of headphones to get a makeover are the Jabra Sport Pulse Special Editions headphones (pictured above in black). They’re still optimized for runners and now have a new way to continuously measure your VO² max, which has to do with your rate of oxygen consumption. You’ll still get real-time feedback on your heart rate and at the end of your run the little voice in your ear will give you a summary of your workout. If you want your headphones to tell you how many calories you burned, your pace, distance, and route taken then the Sport Pulse are the ones for you. They aren’t out yet but when they are released in Q3 they will retail for $159.

Jabra Sport Coach Special Edition

If you’re not much of a runner, the Jabra Sport Coach Special Editions have been upgraded with some cool new features perfect for hitting the gym (pictured above in blue). They now have a Trackfit motion sensor which works with the Jabra Sports Life app to track your movements. They can keep track of the number of reps in your workout so you don’t have to. You can now leave the counting to your headphones and just focus on giving it your all. They’ll even tell you when to move on to the next exercise so you can optimize your time at the gym. The Sport Coach will also be available for purchase in Q3 for $119.

Both models come with Comply memory foam tips and an improved sweat protection warranty. On top of the 1-year protection that comes standard, you’ll get an additional two years when you download the free Jabra app. We’ll be sure to get a review on these up as soon as we can so keep checking back.
