Interview with Jonathan Levine - CEO of Master & Dynamic

Master & Dynamic Interview

Published onJanuary 9, 2017

Master & Dynamic announced their new MW50 headphones back in November, but they were here at CES showing them off in a suite and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check them out. They have the same industrial design elements and premium materials that you’ll find throughout the M&D line-up, ranging from the metal build to the plush lambskin leather.

The MW50s have Bluetooth 4.1 and aptX so you can stream higher quality files from compatible devices. Battery life is spec’d at 16 hours and these are Master & Dynamic’s first pair of headphones that charge via USB Type-C. In our interview with CEO Johnathan Levine, we asked him if he would ever consider dropping the headphone jack in favor of an all type-C pair of headphones, and his response made it clear that the company currently has no plans to do so. Good news if you’re a fan of the headphone jack.

  • 16 hour battery life w/ USB-C charging
  • 40mm beryllium-coated drivers
  • Bluetooth 4.1 w/ aptX
  • 100 ft wireless range
  • 3.5mm input
  • Removable lambskin ear pads with memory foam padding

For the full interview make sure to check out the video above! We discuss the new MW50 headphones as well as whether or not the company has any plans to make a sub-$100 pair of headphones.
