HP forays into consumer wireless earbuds market with Poly Voyager Free 20
- HP has taken a leap into the consumer wireless earbuds category with the new Poly Voyager Free 20 wireless earbuds
- These earbuds are more consumer-focused compared to last year’s Poly Voyager Free 60 enterprise-focused earbuds.
- The Poly Voyager Free 20 wireless earbuds are expected to be available in May 2024 for $149.
This year at CES 2024, we were surprised to see HP jumping into the consumer wireless earbud category with a new product under the Poly Voyager branding. The HP Poly Voyager Free 20 is an affordable set of true wireless earbuds that will enter the market for only $149 this May.
Last year, we saw the HP Poly Voyager Free 60, but those earbuds were more expensive and targeted specifically at the business enterprise market. On the other hand, the new HP Poly Voyager Free 20 earbuds are primarily for the regular consumer market. The earbuds have a slim and lightweight design but come with ANC and six noise cancelling microphones for clear calls.
The Free 20 earbuds promise up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, with a wireless charging case that adds another two and a half charges. It will also come with a companion app, called Poly Lens, which will offer a personalized fit test and customization options for the earbuds.
While this first foray into the consumer earbud market from HP may not have any headline-grabbing features, we are excited to see if the earbuds hold up to the history of reliability from HP computing machines.
