HONOR Earbuds Open: Stay aware without any trade-offs?

- On first demo, we thought the earbuds had more bass than expected for open earbuds, and sound good in quiet environments.
If you like staying aware of your surroundings, you’ll be pleased to find out that HONOR has entered the fight for best open earbuds. The new HONOR Earbuds Open sit outside your ear canal, allowing you to hear your environment while listening to music. On the other hand, if you want to block out some noise to focus in on your music, these earbuds also have active noise cancelation. Typically, earbuds need to seal off the ear canal to have effective ANC, so stay tuned for when we put the HONOR Earbuds Open through our SoundGuys testing lab to see if they can actually block out a noticeable amount of noise.
Beyond noise canceling, the HONOR Earbuds Open have a few other tricks up its sleeve. One is the inclusion of an AI Agent voice assistant to go along with AI Live Translation, features we’ve seen from premium wireless earbuds like the Samsung Galaxy Buds3, but rarely see on open style earbuds. The HONOR Earbuds Open also promise up to 6 hours of battery life in the earbuds and up to an impressive 22 hours of battery life with the charging case.
Most open earbuds fail to accurately produce bass and sub-bass frequencies, but that’s not the case with the HONOR Earbuds Open. Using Surround Subwoofer technology, we found the HONOR Earbuds Open had a surprising amount of bass when we tried them out at MWC 2025.
With the promise of noise canceling and good bass performance, are the HONOR Earbuds Open the first earbuds that keep your earbuds open without any major trade-offs?
