Spotify is entering the audiobook space this December, offering free users in the United States a one-month trial of its Audiobooks Access Tier. The trial, available through December 15, gives listeners access to Spotify’s extensive library of over 300,000 audiobook titles.
After the trial period ends, users can continue accessing audiobooks through either the dedicated Audiobooks Access Tier for $9.99 monthly or upgrade to a Premium subscription starting at $11.99, which includes audiobooks with music and podcast content.
Following the success of Spotify Wrapped, Spotify has also introduced its first-ever Wrapped for Authors experience, providing publishers and authors with detailed insights about their listeners’ habits. This new tool offers data on peak listening times and audience retention across titles.
The expansion of Spotify’s audiobook offering follows Spotify’s broader strategy to diversify its content offerings. Other new features launched this year include Countdown Pages for upcoming audiobook releases and more marketing tools through Spotify for Authors.
