Focal reveals two new headphones: Hadenys and Azurys

Focal, a renowned French audio brand, announced the release of two new headphone models, Hadenys and Azurys. The Hadenys model is intended for home use with an open-back design. In contrast, Azurys features a closed-back design, suitable for both home and portable use. Both models are equipped with the same 40mm aluminum/magnesium ‘M’-shaped dome speaker drivers, the same found in the renowned Focal Bathys headphones.
The exact details are scant so far, but here is some of what Focal has revealed:
- Hadenys: Inspired by the Hadean eon, these headphones feature an earthy brown finish and are crafted with a focus on comfort and durability, integrating materials like genuine leather and a magnesium yoke.
- Azurys: Drawing design inspiration from the semi-precious stone Azurite, these headphones come in a unique bluish hue and are designed to be light and compact, making them ideal for travel.
- Specs: Both headphones share a sensitivity of 100dB SPL, with a frequency response ranging from 15Hz to 22kHz for Azurys and 25Hz to 22kHz for Hadenys. Azurys are said to have a slightly higher total harmonic distortion (THD) at 0.3% compared to 0.2% for Hadenys.
Both the Focal Hadenys and the Azurys will be available for purchase in June 2024.
