DJI is launching a sequel to one of our favorite wireless microphones
- DJI has announced the DJI Mic 2, the sequel to the fan-favorite microphone system for content creators.
- The new model has improved battery life, 32-bit recording quality, and support for direct Bluetooth connectivity.
- It will be available for $349.
CES may be over, but new product announcements have not stopped coming. DJI has released a successor to the DJI Mic, and it promises some major upgrades over the original. The new microphone system promises high-quality 32-bit audio recording with AI noise canceling for crystal-clear voice transmission. This model comes with a lightning adapter so iPhone users can take advantage of all the functionality and features out of the box. You can also now directly pair the transmitters to your device via Bluetooth.
The new microphone has an extended battery life compared to its predecessor. While the first-gen DJI Mic would last 15 hours with the charging case, the new model lasts 18 hours. Each transmitter/receiver gets a slight boost from 5.5 hours to 6 hours on a charge.
The microphone has the same 8GB of internal storage in each transmitter. The storage capacity limits you to 14 hours of uncompressed 48kHz 24-bit audio recording. Still, that is more than enough for most content creators’ needs, as you can offload recordings between sessions.
You get the same massive 250 metres of range as the original DJI Mic, as well as all the advanced features such as the OLED touchscreen and Safety Track. We’ll be breaking down all of the new features of the DJI Mic 2 in our full written and video reviews.
