Blue The cardioid condenser microphone features a slim profile, ideal for bloggers and musicians with limited space.

Blue Microphones unveiled its latest recording product: the Blue Ember XLR cardioid condenser microphone. The Ember is designed to clearly record sounds directly in front of it, like vocals and instruments, and its pickup pattern is conducive to attenuating distracting background noise. In tandem with the phantom power, this facilitates a reliable and consistent frequency response.

According to Tommy Edwards, director of product management at Blue Microphones, “Ember is designed to help video creators, podcasters, and musicians deliver professional productions from their home studios with superb detail and depth.” With the rise of do-it-yourself podcasts, the compact Blue Ember seems a sensible product with a smaller footprint than the lauded Blue Yeti.

Included with the Blue Ember is a stand, compatible with standard mic stands, a proprietary S3 shock mount, and a boom arm. It’s currently available for pre-order for $99.99.
