Beyerdynamic, the German audio manufacturer known for its professional studio headphones, is making its first foray into the in-ear monitor market with four new models. The announcement comes as part of the company’s showcase at NAMM 2025.
The new IEM lineup consists of four models, each targeting specific use cases:
- DT 70 IE: Aimed at mixing engineers and critical listening, with a frequency response following the Fletcher-Munson curve
- DT 71 IE: Designed for drummers and bassists, featuring enhanced low frequencies and clear treble
- DT 72 IE: Tailored for guitarists and vocalists, with compensation for the occlusion effect
- DT 73 IE: Created for orchestral musicians and keyboardists, offering linear reproduction from 20 Hz to 1 kHz
All models share the same core technology: Beyerdynamic’s new TESLA.11 dynamic driver system. The company claims this system achieves a very low total harmonic distortion of 0.02% while capable of reaching 137dB SPL. Each IEM also includes five sizes of silicone tips and three pairs of Comply memory foam tips.
For isolation, the DT 70 IE i stated to provide -39dB of passive noise reduction, though isolation specifications for other models weren’t disclosed. All models feature MMCX connectors with gold plating for durability.
Alongside the IEMs, Beyerdynamic also announced updates to its studio headphone lineup with the DT 1990 PRO MKII and DT 1770 PRO MKII. These updated models feature a lower 30-ohm impedance compared to their predecessors, making them more suitable for use with portable devices.
The new IEM series will be available in Q2 2025 through Beyerdynamic’s online store, with each model priced at $499.99.
