The same year Beyerdynamic is celebrating its 100th anniversary, they’ve announced a slew of new products at the 100th anniversary of the IFA exhibition. The most interesting of the new models announced is perhaps the Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 300, which combines classic Beyerdynamic driver technology with modern features such as Bluetooth, noise canceling, and spatial audio.
When it comes to wired headphones for professional use, the Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X and DT 700 PRO X have long been near the top of our list thanks to the excellent sound quality of their STELLAR.45 drivers. Beyerdynamic is now bringing that same driver technology to a consumer-friendly wireless headphone design with the AVENTHO 300. This means you can expect excellent sound quality, though we’ll have to wait until we put the headphones through our comprehensive testing lab before making a judgment.
Beyerdynamic has been around longer than my grandparents have, but unlike my grandparents, they have a keen understanding of modern technology. With the AVENTHO 300, you get future-proof features such as Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Lossless. The headphones also have hybrid active noise canceling and a transparency mode, so they can hold up to listening in a variety of environments.
Spatial audio continues to become more popular, and Beyerdynamic is riding the trend by including Dolby Atmos head tracking technology in the AVENTHO 300. This means you get an immersive spatial audio listening experience that adapts to your movements, creating the perception of a direct sound source in front of you. The headphones also support the new Beyerdynamic app for iOS and Android, which offers a 5-band equalizer.
While listening wirelessly, you can control the headphones using an onboard touchpad and physical buttons. The headphones promise a battery life of up to 50 hours, with a 10-minute fast charge providing up to 5 hours of playback time. If you run out of juice, or prefer listening the old-school way, you can use the Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 300 with a wired connection over USB-C or 3.5mm auxiliary.
You can purchase the Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 300 later this year in the US for $399.99.
