If you wanted a way to future-proof your old Bang & Olufsen speakers, you now have a way. B&O is introducing a new Hi-Fi streaming box that works with new and old speakers alike.
The audio product maker has announced it is launching the Beoconnect Core. This streaming box promises to connect your TVs, projectors, and turntables wirelessly to your B&O stereos. It appears the box can even have your speakers all work together, regardless if your setup consists of different types of B&O speakers.
The Beoconnect Core has a variety of connectivity options, including HDMI ARC, Powerlink, USB, and 3.5mm jack, shown in the image above. As a result, it can be used with a variety of devices.
Connections are all controlled from the Bang & Olufsen app. When connecting through the app, the user will be asked to “Set up now.” After tapping the button, the app allows the user to select from a range of the company’s catalog of products to confirm their connection. Once the connection is complete, the app displays the connected speakers as well as the media being played and a few other options.
If you were thinking about picking one up for yourself, know that this Hi-Fi streaming box won’t be cheap. B&O has the device listed on their website for $1,150. The company doesn’t provide a release date, but it does stay that “stock is expected end of March.”
