Audeze unveils $5,995 CRBN2 headphones: The latest in luxury in audio
- Audeze has released their latest premium headphones, the CRBN2
- The CRBN2 uses new technology to produce clearer sound, especially improved bass
- Priced at an eye-watering $5,995, it’s aimed at audio enthusiasts and requires a specialized amplifier
Audeze has announced the release of its latest high-end headphone, the CRBN2. The new model introduces Audeze’s patent-pending Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator (SLAM) technology, designed to improve sound quality, particularly bass response.
The CRBN2 uses electrostatic technology, which differs from most common headphones. It employs an extremely thin, electrically charged film suspended between two metal plates to produce sound. This method is known for exceptional clarity but requires specialized high-voltage amplifiers. Featuring a second-generation carbon-nanotube electrostatic driver, the CRBN2’s SLAM technology aims to enhance bass performance without increasing distortion.
The CRBN2 is priced at $5,995 and requires a special amplifier with a 580VDC bias output, commonly known as “Stax Pro Bias.” It’s available for purchase on the Audeze website.
