Amazon’s Big Deal Days is coming on October 8-9, but that’s an Amazon Prime subscriber-only event. You can sign up for Amazon Prime, or you can take advantage of today’s early deals, which are available for everyone. All Amazon Echo Alexa speakers are on sale right now, save for the Echo Studio. Let’s go over some of these hot deals!
The Amazon Echo Pop is the cheapest offer at just $18. You can also upgrade to the Echo Dot for just $23. For more features and better audio quality, the Amazon Echo is only $50. Lastly, you can grab the Amazon Echo Spot for $45 and get a device with a screen. By the way, all of these come with a free TP-Link Tapo Smart Color Bulb, except for the Amazon Echo.
Buy the Amazon Echo Pop with TP-Link Tapo Smart Color Bulb for just $18
Buy the Amazon Echo Dot (5th Generation) with TP-Link Tapo Smart Color Bulb for $23
Buy the Amazon Echo (4th Generation) for $50
Buy the Amazon Echo Spot with TP-Link Tapo Smart Color Bulb for $45
All of these offers are “limited time deals.” They are early deals, part of the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event. These discounts apply to all color versions available. The only exception is with the Amazon Echo (4th Generation), which you can buy for $50 if you pick the Twilight Blue model. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay $55, but you can also get the free smart light if you pay that slightly higher price.
Which Amazon Echo speaker should I pick?
All of these Alexa speakers are different, and some will be better for specific uses, spaces, and purposes. Let’s help you figure out which is best for your needs.
Amazon Echo Pop
The Amazon Echo Pop is the cheapest Alexa speaker of the bunch, but it is still a really nice acquisition. We reviewed the Amazon Echo Pop and praised it for its really nice, modern design. Of course, there is also the fact that it grants you Alexa integration at a super low price, which is even cheaper today. As such, you have to keep your expectations in check.
The 1.95-inch speaker offers decent sound for a small room, but the volume isn’t very loud. It also doesn’t have more advanced features like motion detection or a temperature sensor, but you can set it up as an eero mesh Wi-Fi extender. Of course, you also get access to Amazon Alexa, so you can still play music, ask Alexa for any information, and control your smart home. And at this price, it is still extremely hard to beat it.
Amazon Echo Dot
If you do want a bit of an upgrade, though, the 5th-generation Amazon Echo Dot is a great contender. It’s only a bit pricier at $23, but it comes with nice additions, such as motion detection and a temperature sensor, which you can use to automate other smart devices.
It has a smaller 1.73-inch speaker, but it still sounds decent and can fill an average bedroom with sound. We found that the sound gets a bit distorted at higher volumes, but at least it can reach them. I personally believe it also looks better than the Pop, and the light ring is much more noticeable. Overall, it features a fuller and more connected Alexa experience.
Amazon Echo
Those who really care about audio quality and volume will want to upgrade to the 4th-generation Amazon Echo. It is much larger at 5.7 x 5.7 x 5.2 inches, but the audio gets supercharged thanks to the 3-inch neodymium woofer and dual front-firing 0.8-inch tweeters. We definitely found the audio to be better, offering a deeper bass and louder volume.
This unit also includes all the features, including Alexa connectivity, a temperature sensor, motion detection, Eero mesh support, and an integrated Zigbee smart home hub. As already mentioned, this $50 deal is for the Twilight Blue version, which does not include a smart light bulb. If you prefer other color versions and want a free smart light bulb, you’ll have to pay $55.
Amazon Echo Spot
The Amazon Echo Spot falls into a bit of a different category, somewhere in between smart speakers and smart displays. It looks much like an Echo Pop, but about half of the front has a screen that can give you some details on the time, weather, music playing, alarms, and more. Otherwise, it works like any other Alexa speaker.
It has a 1.73-inch speaker, similar to the one in the Dot. You’ll still get motion detection, but that is about where the extra features end. There is no temperature sensor, Zigbee hub, or eero support. At just $45 and with an included smart light bulb, though, it’s an excellent option for the bedside table.
Are you liking any of these? Make sure to act quickly, because Amazon Big Deal Days offers will be only for Prime members, while these offers are accessible to all.
