The new Razer Thresher Ultimate wireless headsets offer Dolby 7.1 surround sound
Razer is announcing two new wireless headsets today as part of the E3 2017 gaming trade show. The company’s Thresher Ultimate headsets will have separate models for Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 consoles. Both of them will also work with PCs.
Both models will support Dolby 7.1 surround sound with their large 50 mm drivers. Sound is sent through the headsets’ leatherette ear cups, which contain memory foam for both comfort and noise isolation. They also have a retractable digital microphone, and on-headset controls for microphone volume. The PS4 version also has headset controls for game volume and voice chat balance. People who need to wear glasses should have a comfortable experience with the Thresher, as it also has foam indentations for temple relief.
The headsets can be used up to 40 feet away from their base stations, and have a battery life of up to 16 hours on one charge. Both models will be available for pre-order soon and will go on sale later in June for the price of $249.99. The Xbox One version, by the way, has green colors on its earphones, while the PS4 version has blue colors.
